I've been 'hobbying' in Southern Colorado since 2006.  Not long by some standards, but long enough to have gleaned what I and some others consider to be useful information for fellow hobbyists and providers -- hence I've offered up this website.  I tend to play it relatively safe in my hobbying in that I tend to prefer well-reviewed providers.  However, I do find it entertaining to watch what is going on in the overall hobbying scene in Southern Colorado.   Hopefully you'll find the following tips useful.

Tips for 'hobbyists':

  1. craigslist erotic services isn't the safest venue [why not?].  Unless you like the adventure that this venue provides you are better off seeking providers in other on-line forums.  You'll find many options in the quick topical links section of our home page under the 'ASP site directories' or 'ASP ads' headings or on the provider summary page.
  2. Your safest bet is to go with well-reviewed providers.  craigslist erotic services doesn't really provide a reliable / credible means for review [why not?]. You'll find a number of review boards for Colorado on the quick topical links section of our home page under the 'reviews' heading.
  3. craigslist erotic services is an ad forum, not a discussion or review forum.  If you want to discuss hobby-related stuff go to the numerous hobbyist discussion and review forums on the quick topical links section of our home page under the 'forums' heading.
  4. craigslist erotic services is full of scams.  Here are a few ways to identify and avoid the scams ... the hallmarks of the scam ads:
    1. All the ads that lure you to other enticing sites like craigsdating, nsa4you, safehookups, legalescorts, etc. are all scams trying to get you to sign up for their services which result in nothing satisfying or steal your personal information.
    2. If the ad contains no contact phone number, but instead expects you to instant message them or email them back through the craigslist ad reply system or to view their 'profile' on some generic enticing site like nsahookups, nonstoplocals, sexyflingdate, etc. ... then there is a VERY good chance that this is a scam.
    3. Many of the scam ads are for providers that are allegedly new to the area or back in the business again or just passing through.  This helps explain the myriad of new photos and names that keep popping up that are unfamiliar.  Also many of the guys using this forum are cruisin' for new providers ... something new, so this is a draw for them.
    4. Almost all the ads that look 'too good to be true' are generally just that and end up being scams of one form or another.
    5. Ads that require you to email the 'provider' to get further information and then their reply requires you to sign up for something like sexkey are scams.  Many of these go through a 'front site' called legalescortsnow, fling or some name like that.
    6. ads that contain a bunch of gibberish text or some text of no relevance to the forum and then some enticing image files with URLs for scam sites or instant messenger address.
    7. Here's an example of a scammer ad and the email reply.
Do us all a favor and flag these scam posts whenever you see them -- it will make all of our viewing of this forum more pleasant.

Tips for 'providers':

  1. craigslist erotic services isn't the safest venue [why not?].   Unless you like the adventure that this venue provides you are better off seeking clients in other on-line forums.  You'll find many options in the quick topical links section of our home page under the 'ASP site directories' or 'ASP ads' headings.
  2. You'll get more business and more business of a better sort if you are well-reviewed.  Don't be shy about asking your clients to provide reviews for you on places like The Other Board (TOB), The Erotic Review (TER), sowet and/or tnaboard.  You'll find a number of review boards for Colorado on the quick topical links section of our home page under the 'reviews' heading.  Don't ask reviewers to post reviews on 'the forum'  [why not?].
  3. Tips for more successful ads:
    1. include pictures and have the images be higher quality than cell phone pictures.
    2. pick a name / handle, stick with it and use it.  Ads with no names/handles make it really hard for clients to remember you and review you.
    3. put up a website where prospective clients can get more information and see more pictures.  There are many options for easy and inexpensive  ways to put up a website (e.g., cospringsescorts.com/coloradofantasyescorts.com, rare-escorts.com/rare-companion.com/rare-courtesan.com).   cospringsescorts.com/coloradofantasyescorts.com offers an inexpensive package that includes a professional photo shoot.
    4. don't upsell.  If you don't provide full service then just say so (clearly).  You'll avoid lots of hassles and angst for everyone.  You'll still get clients and they'll have expectations that are more appropriately set.
  4. Play it safe and ask for references and check the references.  Sites like Preferred411 don't cost you anything to join and can help with the reference checking a lot.  Do not use sexkey for reference checking.  Clients view it as a scam (which it is).
  5. Review the 'hallmarks of a scam' above in the hobbyist section.  Avoid using these techniques.  Most notably give a phone number for contact information.
